I did a full water replacement with coconut milk, on this rustic looking soap. I used green tea butter from Brambleberry.com . I Added 1oz of bamboo powder to a total batch of 52 oz of batter. Bamboo powder has an exfoliating texture similar to a salt bar without having to change your recipe around to account for the salt. I added some titanium dioxide to hopefully offset the discoloring from the fragrance(NG Loving Spell) and the coconut milk (cures to an off white). I made this by hot process method so with limited time at the end of the cook I did a simple two color hangar swirl with spirulina powder.
Carrot Turmeric Soap
2 oz Honey Melt & Pour Soap base
2 oz Shea or Yogurt Melt & Pour Soap base
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp Kaolin Clay
12 drops Jojoba Oil
1 ml Carrot extract
.5 ml Sea Buckthorn extract
1/8 tsp Spirulina powder
roughly chop Honey soap and add half of the turmeric into a measuring cup and microwave in 10 second bursts until melted, stir well and allow to cool for a moment before mixing in buckthorn extract and 6 drops jojoba oil. As the soap begins to thicken up slightly pour it into the mold and sprinkle the spirulina powder over the top.
In the measuring cup add the shea or yogurt soap, roughly chopped, the other half of the turmeric and kaolin clay and microwave in 10 second bursts until melted. Stir well and cool for a minute, mix in carrot extract, 6 drops of jojoba oil. Spray the top of the first layer with isopropyl alcohol and pour second layer. You can leave the layers intact or you can use a fork to poke down into the soap so it swirls or mixes together.
Let cool completely before removing soap from mold.
