It’s almost warm enough to enjoy being outside. My Hyacinth bloomed first, the yellow rose I picked up at the fruit market last week. I’m quite a fan of yellow flowers. My Narcissus will bloom next.
Colloidal oatmeal is oats ground into a non-abrasive micro-fine powder. It’s easy to find on craft supply websites.
I added colloidal oatmeal at one tablespoon per pound of oil in one of my basic soap recipes. I will now let them sit for a few days or weeks before I trim them up and remove the soda ash.
In terms of design conception and execution to plan the appearance of this soap was a bit off. I was going for pale pink in my plan with just Rose clay as colorant with gold highlighting. Somewhere along the way I made an attempt to highlight it with subtle bit of Brick Red Oxide and I over did it. I got the gold highlighting right. The soap recipe is using cocoa butter and is fantastic.
