No Bake Chocolate Coconut Maple Cookies

My lovie wanted chocolate so I looked at a couple of different no bake recipes to get the general idea and kinda made up my own from there.

No-Bake Chocolate Coconut Maple Cookies

2/3 cup Maple Syrup

Slightly less than 1/4 cup Coconut Oil

3 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened Cacao Powder

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

1  1/4 cup Rolled Oats

1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon Peanut Butter

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

In a sauce pan add maple syrup, coconut oil, cacao and cinnamon. Bring to a boil then stir constantly for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in peanut butter, oats and vanilla. Add spoonful’s to cookie sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes before consuming.

Burnt Sugar Pink Grapefruit Bath Bombs

Basic Bath Bomb Recipe

1 cup Baking Soda

1/2 cup Citric Acid

1/2 cup Salt

From there you can create everything from bath bombs to toilet cleaners depending on what you add to it.

For this recipe I added:

1/2 cup Arrowroot Powder

10 drops Jojoba Oil

10 drops Grapeseed oil

10 drops Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil

10 drops Burnt Sugar fragrance

3 drops Vitamin E

After Mixing all oils and dry ingredients thoroughly you want to use a fine misting spray bottle with water to carefully spray the powder as you mix it. When you start to feel resistance as you mix and it begins to look like damp sand it should be ready. You want enough liquid to hold the mixture together but not to start a chemical reaction between the Citric Acid and the Baking Powder.  It just needs to barely be holding a shape for it to set properly. Use a spoon to add the powder to your mold, cupcake pans work well for this, mix in you colorant and anything you want embedded in layers then apply weight and compress the powder into a solid. For my colorant here I used 1/2 of a teaspoon of Beet Root Powder but you could also use a small amount of food coloring or clay.

If I am using a cupcake pan I place the palm of my hand over the top of the bathbomb and use all of my body weight to press down on each one, add more as it compresses until you have it level with the top of the pan.

Leave the bath bombs in their mold until they are completely dry. Moisture can cause slow chemical reaction and warp the shape of the bomb. I usually leave them in the mold over night and pop them out the next morning. Keep them in an air tight container until used.

Bay Rum Espresso Soap

This is a single bar melt & pour project.

Tools needed for this project: 2 measuring cups, spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol, 2 teaspoons, 1 measure or dropper for ml, 4 oz soap mold, scale.

4 oz goats milk melt & pour soap

1 tsp powdered espresso

1/4 tsp kaolin clay

1 ml bay rum fragrance

Chop goats milk soap into small chunks and reserve 1\3 for second layer.
Place 2\3rd’s of soap in measuring cup and microwave in 10 second intervals until melted.
While microwaving soap measure espresso and reserve a pinch, add the rest to the melted soap and mix well.
Pour into mold and spray with isopropyl alcohol to remove bubbles, sprinkle powdered espresso on top evenly as possible and place mold carefully in freezer.
In the second measuring cup place the remaining melt & pour soap and kaolin clay, microwave in 10 second intervals until melted, mix well. Stir a moment to dissipate heat then add the bay rum fragrance, mix well.
Remove mold from freezer and spray the top of the soap with isopropyl alcohol before pouring the second layer. Spray top of soap with alcohol to remove bubbles and let cool completely before unmolding.

If you forget to spray alcohol between the layers or if you add too much espresso in between, your layers will not bond together.

Variations: If you wish to swirl your layers together don’t add the first layer to the freezer after pouring and apply second layer when the first layer has only cooled enough to have a thin skin. Use a toothpick or utensil to gently mix the layers after pouring, do it gently but quickly, it cools and hardens pretty fast.
You could also use a clear melt & pour for the espresso layer for a bigger contrast.
Add a few whole coffee beans for decoration.
A speck of vanilla bean seeds would be a great addition to the clay layer or used instead of the pinch of espresso.
If you do not have bay rum fragrance you could use pumpkin pie spice or ground cinnamon.
